In today’s competitive and rapidly growing corporate world, a pharmaceutical professional is required to continuously improve his or her skills and obtain knowledge to keep pace with this growth. The knowledge obtained yesterday is no longer guaranteed to be effective in future, and thus it is vital for pharmaceutical companies and individuals to constantly pay attention to the learning tools at their disposal.

With that said, there still exist many obstacles that prevent companies in their quest for higher education and training. The current state of the economy has forced companies in the pharmaceutical sector to dedicate significantly smaller budgets to personnel training, as compared to budgets in the past. Today’s sky rocketing fuel prices have led to much higher traveling costs, making it much more difficult for companies to train their personnel externally, and thus they must rely on their in-house training. Based on the latest industry news, as well as the opinions of several key experts in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, it appears that some companies do not have adequate in-house training programs to meet the expectations of the FDA and other international regulatory bodies.
